Where do I start?!?!

So much to say, so little time...my husband and I were married in August 2011 and we began looking at resales in 2012. Of all the houses we saw, none really appealed to us. Too small, too much repair, not enough parking space, too close to other homes, etc...I though we would never get a house! I know I am picky but when you are spending that much money, shouldn't you be as picky as you want? This is your home so you can have as many opinions as needed. 

Around late August, we visited a home builder in our area and fell in love with the house and community. Of course the model home was beautiful and had every upgrade imaginable. That size house was a little too big for my liking and we couldn't really picture anything smaller (I'm not good at square footage). We knew that this particular builder wasn't going to fit with us because of the crazy lot prices and the fact that they wanted 10% of the total purchase price upfront before they would build! So we kept looking and finally went to see a Ryan Home community. 

The model at RH was the Florence and we fell in love with it. It was the perfect size and I could see us living there and making it our family home. The community wasn't bad, there are no tot lots, club house or swimming pools, etc...I think in time maybe there will be more to it but we'll see. 

To make an extremely long story short, we decided to purchase our first home with Ryan Homes in November. Between August and November we looked at even more builders and resales. We went to open houses but nothing intrigued us; we kept going back to Ryan Homes. 

Anyway, here is our lot! I am excited to see the house being built and finally move into our first home.
